These grade bands represent the child's CURRENT grade in academic year 2020-21. Grades 3-5 are equivalent to Years 4-6 in the British Curriculum. These courses are generally aimed at students aged 9-11.
*Note: Classes will need a minimum of 5 students to continue , if the minimum is not met classes will be cancelled and you will be refunded.

Musical Prodigies
This class is an amazing opportunity for students to dive deeper into their passion for music and explore key music concepts. This class is for students in grades G 3-5 of all music abilities and levels. In this course, students will learn key musical knowledge, which is transferable to all musical instruments. Students will have the chance to explore different elements of music composition, as well as develop a strong tonal center utilizing solfege, note names and rhythmic value. This unique course will include mathematical structures and patterns in music, vocabulary, and will explore composition and music theory concepts.
Course Instructor: Jacob Spears
Pre-Requisite: Students must be able to work and follow directions independently. Students must have a high-level of interest in music.

Musical Theatre!
Students have an exciting opportunity to learn musical theatre techniques, create hands-on projects for costumes and props and socialize with their fellow learners! In addition to the weekly classes, we will rehearse and perform a musical! A few of the aspects we will explore include speaking and literacy skills through monologue, dialogue, and improvisation. Students will explore choreography of song and dance numbers, pitch development, rhythm, timing, and reading sheet music, as well as acting techniques that develop character through voice, tone, facial expression and body language. This course aims to highlight how theatre enhances social skills and collaboration to create a musical production!

Pre-Requisite: This class is for students with a passion for performing. This course is highly recommended for students who have participated in school productions.
