My name is Ahlam Issa and I am an Arabic teacher at Qatar Academy Doha, which I have been teaching at for 16 years out of 24 years of experience. In previous years, I have also been part of QF’s annual summer camp since its inception. My favorite part of my job as a teacher is witnessing youth grow utilizing their skills to become independent young adults. As a language teacher I always look forward to listening to students’ interpretations of life and its lessons through different novels and stories, which I look forward to during the summer course!
My name is Aoife Boyce and I am currently teaching Grade 2 at Qatar Academy Doha. I am an experienced classroom practitioner possessing over twenty years of teaching and leadership experience. I continue to approach my teaching with dedication and enthusiasm. I have taught in Ireland, UAE, Italy, and Australia and have made Qatar my home for the past 8 years. I enjoy outdoor activities such as running, cycling and swimming and travelling. I am looking forward to teaching the summer poetry programme.
As a teacher of high school mathematics with over 20 years’ experience, Arfaan Hanif has supported students to achieve world-average exceeding results in the subject, along with developing their social, emotional and moral development. These accomplishments are a consequence of setting high expectations for oneself as well as one’s students. The students gain a myriad of experiences that engage individuals with different learning styles, as well as opportunities for varied productions of learning. As an experienced examiner, with numerous UK national exam boards as well as IB, the expertise in critical subject knowledge helps learners to become capable mathematicians.
Elena is an experienced and passionate educator. She holds a bachelor's degree in Physics and a master's degree in Sciences. Elena has an extensive teaching & leading experience of 15 years. At the same time, Elena is a self-driven, lifelong learner who has gained so much knowledge and experience through self-learning and course enrollment in her own time. She is passionate about understanding human psychology and human behavior. Elena has many certificates from top universities such as Duke University and Stanford University for courses she pursued on her own to learn more about Genetics, forensics, and social psychology. Elena is now taking part in the Human Psychology & Wellbeing course offered by Yale University.

In Lebanon, I have volunteered with the Red Cross Emergency teams for 9 memorable years, and worked as a pre-K teacher for 4 years.
I have moved to Abu Dhabi where I worked as a Head Of French Department for 2 years, before I joined Qatar Foundation, where I have worked as a teacher, then arabic leader, then a KG coordinator for a total of 8 years.
Every day at work taught me something new, whether it was uplifting, exhausting, or challenging. I can never stop learning from the kids' passion for playing and learning, they always motivate me to work hard to meet their expectations.
Ms. Geneviv believes that teaching is a state of give-and-take. She gives avenues for the learners to heighten their confidence in themselves and what best they can become, while the learner’s holistic success is the reward she aims to achieve. Her 17 years of teaching experience made her appreciate the jewels in every learner, which she intends to unleash in her time with the learners. Her international teaching adventures in various places of the world – Philippines, Libya, Singapore, Indonesia and Qatar, allowed her to mold her knowledge on the science of Medical Technology with the noble principles and methodologies of the Masters of Teaching and Special Education.
Ikhlas Ahmad holds a Masters in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s of Science in Child Learning and Development, as well as a Texas Teaching Certificate and English as a Second Language Certificate. She currently works as a Grade 3 Lead Teacher at Qatar Academy Doha. Ikhlas encompasses 10 years of teaching experience. She enjoys reading and writing during her free time.
Jacob Spears received his Masters and began his international teaching career in Kobe, Japan before making the move to Doha 4 years ago. He currently teaches primary music at Qatar Academy Sidra and most recently has been involved with a production of Aladdin, as well as the Qatar Foundation/Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra collaboration of “Showtime!” the musical. Jacob is a multi-instrumentalist, music theory enthusiast, and lover of all things musical.
Mr. Jason Hollis is a Teacher at Qatar Academy Al Khor, where he coaches the school math Olympiad team, whilst also completing his duties as a Grade 5 teacher.
Mr. Jason is an experienced international educator (four years in the United Kingdom and three years Qatar) with experience instructing both the British and IB curricula.
Mr. Jason, who holds both a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s in education, has a passion for teaching Maths. Consequently, he is delighted to remark that he helped coach Qatar Academy Al Khor’s Math Olympiad team to victory this year.
In conclusion, Mr Jason is excited to coach more Math Olympians this summer, pushing his students limits through the fun of healthy competition.
Manal Al Shammari
Ms. Manal Al Shammari has many years of experience within the Qatar Foundation. She is a dedicated teacher who worked hard to developing the PYP Arabic curriculum and on engaging students in activities that represent high-level thinking inside and outside the classrooms. This is her 10th year at Qatar Academy Al Khor. So far, first grade is her favorite grade to teach!
Ms. Manal was the recent recipient of the Scientific Excellence Award (Distinguished Teacher Category) at Qatar’s Education Excellence Awards, the winners of which were honored by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar.

With 24 years of experience teaching mathematics in international schools, Matt McCormick has had extensive experience in mentoring enthusiastic students. In addition to accompanying mathematics teams to the Southeast Asia Mathematics Competition (SEAMC) four times, Matt helped to establish the annual Bali Mathematics Competition at his former school, Bali International School. Matt has a Master’s of Mathematics Education, and is passionate about the subject. His students at QAD are frequently exposed to Math Olympiad type questions in their daily routine.
Hello! My name is Mohamed Farah. I graduated from the University of Greenwich with a bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. I completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the Institute of Education –UCL (University College London). Prior to moving to Qatar I taught in the UK.
One of my most important goals is to create a family of learners in my classroom. I am committed to crafting a classroom environment where everyone is a valued, trusted, challenged, and an integral part of our family of lifelong learners. Molly has over twelve years of classroom experience in Korea, the United States, and Qatar. She holds a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and has spent a large portion of her career teaching English as a Second Language. Since coming to Qatar, her focus has changed to English Language & Literature. She has a passion for teaching writing, but also tries to foster a love of reading in her students. She is excited to teach this summer and cannot wait to take her students on a creative journey through writing!
Nancy Oumarou is an experienced English Language Arts teacher from Queens, New York. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Writing and Master of Science in Secondary Education. During her 14-year tenure in New York City Public Schools, she worked with the Manhattan Theatre Company, bringing musical theatre programs to middle school students each summer. Her career has been dedicated to language enrichment through writing, public speaking, and theatre. Now in her 4th year with Qatar Foundation, she is thrilled to direct her 1st musical production online.
I am Rozine Rizk and I am Lebanese. I have bachelor in Arabic Literature and Teaching diploma. I worked on Qatar Academy Al Khor for 10 years as an Arabic Teacher and Lead Teacher. Last year, I joined Qatar Academy Doha as an Arabic Lead Teacher for primary school. I organized many events to support the Arabic Language such as Arabic Spelling Bee contest, Arabic Language Day, etc… I also presented many Arabic workshops. I am looking forward to meeting the students at Mukhayamna and gaining an amazing experience!

My name is Sandra Lee and I am a Canadian-Korean educator. I have been teaching for 10 years, and 3 of those fantastic years have been at Qatar Academy Doha. I have a degree in the Sciences and a Masters in Gifted Education. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and I am so grateful to be on this earth doing what I love!
When I’m not teaching, I love reading (I’m a bookworm!), traveling, being out in nature, and Latin dancing! I am always looking for new opportunities to learn by immersing myself in new cultures, being curious, and adventurous. Exploration and discovery is what I strive for in every aspect of my life.
Teaching is more than just a profession to me. I have had the privilege of being a part of the learning journeys for more than 500 students of various ages, cultures, and geographies around the world. My students have taught me that in order to continue being the best educator that I can be, I must remain receptive to and appreciative of the invaluable lessons that they give to me along the way.
